With the deal with Pony completed, Italian company Fila became the club’s new kit supplier in a four-year deal. Their first home kit abandoned the blue sleeves and instead introduced a board light blue band down each sleeve and white vertical piping. The collar also featured an interesting new button design. The shirt fabric featured Fila’s F-Tec fabric, designed to manage perspiration effectively.

Reebok arrived at Upton Park as the new kit supplier in 03-04 and their first home design was a very hi-tech affair including Reebok’s Play Dry fabric, designed to keep players drier and more comfortable. The sleeves featured sleek triangular blue panels. Recruitment agency jobserve.com replaced Dr. Martens as club sponsor.

This seasons away offering saw the return of some elements from 80’s football fashion, and this pinstriped Hammers shirt was a perfect example. This was the last kit to be produced for the club by Fila, who decided to pull out of football kit design at this time despite having produced some brilliant and highly individual outfits.

Reebok's second offering returned to the 1960s away favourite, although now dramatically updated with Reebok’s latest house style. The shirt included breathable claret fabric panels on the shoulders and under the arms and, instead of the conventional two claret hoops, a modern design was preferred.

The Hammers introduced 39 debutant players over the successful two-year period the shirts were worn, reaching two Play-off finals and a return to top-flight football.

The Hammers’ home kit for 05-06 was premiered in the Play-Off final against Preston North End at the Millennium Stadium. At first glance the asymmetric sleeves and trim looked unusual, but the design has been cunningly crafted to accentuate body size and performance, creating a very contemporary and challenging outfit.

This last offering from Reebok coincided with West Ham's most controversial season ever with the "Carlos Tevez" affair and the Hammers avoiding relegation on the very last day of the campaign. This was Reebok's second navy blue away kit for the club. Various thicknesses of vertical shadow strips across the front. For the first time on an away strip a white V-neck collar was introduced, along with a white flash across the under-sleeve, topped off with two thin light blue trims. The traditional Reebok logo was replaced with RbK.

West Ham left without shirt sponsor after airline collapse

XL Airways collapsed  with debts of £143m in September 2008, leaving West Ham in search of a replacement partner after losing out on the remainder of a deal understood to be worth between £3m and £4m a year. The club suspended all sales of their replica shirts and will play at West Bromwich Albion in an unbranded strip. "West Ham United have taken the decision to immediately terminate their relationship with XL Holidays"

"In view of this, the club have suspended all sales of replica shirts until further notice. This will also involve in due course the removal of XL Holidays branding from all West Ham United platforms."

The Hammers had been without an official sponsor since the collapse of XL Holidays in September 2008 midway through a £7.5 million three-year contract. The partnership with the online sports bookmakers will see the SBOBET logo worn by the first team - replacing the squad numbers used since 20 September. The new-look kit will be seen for the first time when West Ham United play Tottenham Hotspur at the Boleyn Ground on Monday 8 December. In an effort to save money the club opted to have the new SBOBET logo ironed on over the old XL.com one. Fans who have already purchased the 2008/09 home shirt were able to get the new logo applied free of charge.

A round collar in a style similar to those worn in the 60’s by the great Bobby Moore combined with a classic Italian cut featured  the ‘Hammers’ wording to the back of the collar and a ‘castle’ motif woven within the fabric to the lower back. The agreement will see adidas produce the Hammers' team kit, replica kit, training wear and equipment for the 2013/14 and 2014/15 seasons and will feature adidas performance fabrics ClimaCool and ClimaLite technology, a mixture of heat and moisture controlling materials, ventilation channels and 3D fabrics which improve air flow to the skin and in key heat zones.
