September 2008: West Ham United confirm the signing of Hungarian youth international striker Balint Bajner on a season-long loan with a view to a possible permanent transfer.

The 17-year-old, who had attracted attention across Europe, is the latest in-demand youngster to head to the club. Bajner, who represented his country at the European U19 European Championship. In Hungary's opening match qualifying match against San Marino, Bajner scored a 16-minute hat-trick as his side won 6–0. The striker can also play wide right, had been playing for Romanian club Liberty Oradea before heading to east London.

Bjner returned to Liberty Oradea at the end of the 2008–09 season as West Ham decided not to take up the option of a permanent transfer when his loan ended

Abiola BADIROU

Born: Creil, France 31 May 1993

September 2012: West Ham United were waiting on FIFA clarification over whether they have signed French prospect Abiola Badirou. The 19-year-old joined the Hammers on trial earlier in the summer and has been playing with their development squad. Badirou arrived in England as a free agent after spending the previous campaign with Ligue 2 side Tours.

West Ham were impressed and pushed ahead with a deal, but it was not finalised in time due to paperwork not arriving from France. The issue arose as Badirou never signed a professional deal and was actually an amateur, but as West Ham did all their paperwork they are hopeful FIFA will sanction him to join now. If Badirou does not sign this month, he is still expected to remain training with the club before signing in January.

Badirou later played for Chambly (France)

Baradji signed for West Ham United on the transfer deadline, 31 August 2005. He was immediately loaned to Reading. He had been on trial with Derby; Burnley tried to offer him a contract before West Ham signed the midfielder. He only made three appearances for the Royals, twice in the Football League Cup and once in the league, a substitute appearance against Sheffield United in which Baradji's free kick allowed Brynjar Gunnarsson to score the winner in a pivotal first-against-second match. Reading did not extend Baradji's loan and West Ham later released him in May 2006.

In 2010 Baradji was on trial with Premier League club Wigan Athletic and played in their pre-season friendly draw with Oldham Athletic. He also travelled to Austria with the team and played in their 4-1 victory over NK Rudar on 26 July 2010

Prior to joing West Ham, Ray played his club football for Clapton (Isthmian Reserve League) and Newham Sports (Walthamstow Sunday League) playing alongside future Hammer starlets Peter Grotier, John McDowell and Clive Charles as well as youth players Glen Tully and Dave Bedford. The same group of players also played for Newham District Schools who's main rivals was Redbridge Schools where another Hammer Steve Aylott played for.

The young goalkeeper joined the Hammers for the 1968-69 season and was a member of the South East Counties League side, played 12 games in Division One and a further 2 games in Division Two. Ray lists his personal highlight as playing against Chelsea in the deferred 1967-68 two-legged London FA Junior Cup Final. Opposition for Chelsea in both legs was Alan Hudson, a great player, giving bith Steve Knowles and John McDowell a hard time.

On leaving West Ham, he played club football for a short time before eventually retiring. He later took up a coaching capacity when his sons played senior football.  Outside of football he worked for the BBC in an engineering capacity where he met Kevin Bliss also from Newham who played in the SECL the season before.
